Freelance Writer Network has been established as a writers’ website in order to allow authors to publish articles, stories, and poems, fiction or non-fiction to have a showcase for their online writing, create backlinks to other content, and in general to promote themselves as writers.
To maintain the quality of Freelance Writer Network, submissions will be moderated before publication to ensure that they meet our TOS. Every attempt will be made to approve articles within five days of submission, but depending on our schedule it may take longer. Once a writer has shown that they understand our TOS through their submissions, they will be upgraded to author status and allowed to moderate their own work.
By using Freelance Writer Network, you are agreeing to the following Terms of Service (TOS) and Guidelines.
1. Membership
Membership is by invitation only.
You must be 18 to request membership of Freelance Writer Network.
Freelance Writer Network reserves the right to withdraw membership at any time.
All members are required to register with Gravatar.
2. Content
You are responsible for all content that you post on Freelance Writer Network, for which you retain copyright.
Only original content written by you is allowed.
Both fiction and non-fiction topics are allowed.
See #6 below for a list of banned topics
Articles shall be a minimum of 200 and a maximum of 1,500 words.
The Language used must be English.
If content is required to be removed from the site after Publication, then we will normally give sufficient notice. However, Freelance Writer Network reserves the right to delete content without notice.
Members are responsible for backing up their own content.
You agree not to hijack content from other users’ articles, plagiarize, spam or exploit other users. If we find you have stolen content from Freelance Writer Network, to which you do not own the copyright and posted it on another site, then your membership will be terminated and your articles deleted.
3. Outbound Links
Articles shall have a maximum of two outbound links, that can include affiliate links for G rated products or services.
Author Bios shall have a maximum of two outbound links.
With the exception of masking URLs to protect affiliate links, members must not redirect readers to links that are different to that stated, e.g telling readers to “visit my site”, when it is not your site is deliberately misleading and a practice that will not be tolerated on Freelance Writer Network.
4. Privacy
Freelance Writer Network will never sell or rent your personal information, and you will never receive email from a third party as a result of your relationship with us, unless we specifically ask and you explicitly opt in to allow this.
Members are expressly forbidden to collect or store personal data about other users.
5. Other stuff
You cannot use Pro Articles to bypass regulations in force on another site – e.g. encouraging ratings swaps or traffic exchanges on sites where it is expressly forbidden
6. Banned topics
Please note that this list is not definitive. The owners of Freelance Writer Network have the right to ban any Article that they believe is in breach of the TOS, Guidelines, ethics and standards in force on the site.
You must not promote, provide or link to any content (including any advertising content) that references, facilitates, contains or uses, the following:
Freelance Writer Network is a G-rated site, so adult content, including swearing and profanities, nudity, sexual terms and/or images of people in positions or activities that are excessively suggestive or sexual is prohibited.
Obscene, defamatory, libelous, slanderous and/or unlawful content – in fact anything that could get us sued.
Content that infringes upon the rights of any third party, including copyright, trademark, privacy, publicity or other personal or proprietary right, or that is deceptive or fraudulent (such as pirated material) or breaches confidentiality or could get us arrested.
Promotion of liquor, beer, wine or other alcoholic beverages or sale of tobacco products, ammunition and/or firearms.
Gambling, including without limitation, any online casino, sports books, bingo or poker and in case you did not realize, the Lottery IS gambling.
Inflammatory religious content.
Politically religious agendas and/or any known associations with hate, criminal and/or terrorist activities.
Blatant political exploitation for commercial use.
Hate speech, whether directed at an individual or a group, and whether based upon the race, disability, sex, creed, national origin, religious affiliation, marital status, sexual orientation, gender identity, or language of any individual or group.
Illegal activity and/or illegal contests, pyramid schemes, multi level marketing, sweepstakes or chain letters.
Forex, penny stocks.
“Spam” and other advertising or marketing content that violates the TOS on every reputable website known to man.
Please note that this list is not definitive and should be taken as General Guidelines. The Moderators of Freelance Writer Network have the right to ban any Article that they believe is in breach of the ethics and standards in force on the site.
Freelance Writer Network reserves to right to amend these TOS & Guidelines at any time. By submitting articles for publication on Freelance Writer Network, you are indicating that you have read, understood and accepted the TOS.
